    • Bars outsiders from permanent settlement.


    • Prohibits outsiders from buying land.
    • Excludes outsiders from local government jobs
    and education scholarships.
    • Marriage to a man from another Indian state
    results in loss of citizenship.
    • Barrier to J&K's integration, separate laws.
    • Abrogated in 2019 for national integration.
    SITUATION AFTER ABROGATION
