PERSONAL LIFE
María Antonia Alejandra Vicenta Elpidia Isidora Abad Fernández (Sara Montiel) was born on
the 10th of March in 1928 in Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real, Castilla la-Mancha, Spain).
Her family was very poor and they had much difficulties for the life but she always wanted
to be an actress and she didn´t matter anything else. When she was 12 she went to
Orihuela because her father change the work. There, a nun, teached her how to sing and a
film director of Cifesa saw her singing and she took her to do a film, ``Te quiero para mí´´.
After that she did some films in Spain as a secundary actress.
She went to Mexico and she became very famous there. She did many films there and then
Burt LanCaster saw her at an interview and he wanted her for a film called Vera Cruz. That
was her first film in Hollywood.
In 1957 she came back to Spain an she did ``El último cuplé´´. With this film she beacame
the most popular actress in all the world. She did 14 films more and her last film was ``Cinco
almohadas para una noche´´.
Some years later she continued working as an actress in the theaters with musicals as ``Sara
en persona´´ or ``Ven al paralelo´´.
Sara Montiel died in the 8th of April in 2013 and it was sound in all the world.
