The first meeting that we gathered as a group is to construct three questions of what and
why we want to know about the issue in the school. This is the following that we want to know
is firstly is the comfort room in our school, secondly is why students haven’t focused on their
academic performance and lastly is what the primary reason why students engage in cheating.

Task 1: Meet-Plan-Discussion
Of the 3 questions that we made only
one will be chosen by Sir Goy2x . The
chosen is…

1. What is the primary reason

why some grade 11 HUMSS
students engage in cheating?

reasons that are given that checked also by Sir Benasa.

RESPONDENTS
 In our group, we'd like to know the
primary reason why some grade 11 HUMSS
students engage in cheating by the used of
the survey, we would like to know the most
reason why they engage in it, so that we will
be aware of it and make a big difference in our
life as a student.
 Our group decided to conduct this survey
by limited number of fifty students only. Here
in Tagum City National High School.
The reason why students should not
tolerate their self in doing bad things
 We would like to help them because as a student we see that cheating is

not good in our life, if we allow this in our daily life were making our self

to be lazy. Without even knowing that studying has a big impact in our

life, for it has broadened our knowledge and it has also advantage as well

in preparing our self to go into higher education which is college. We all

know that students engage themselves for many reasons and factors. But

we believe on a saying that how love itself requires courage, this is not for

anybody but it is for you own growing up and maturity, so it’s better to

change our self as early.

 In choosing our respondents, at first we ask them if they
experience cheating on the field of education, as well
during quizzes, the good thing is, they are honest that they
engage in cheating and willing to be part of the survey.
And also when answering we will instruct them by
checking only one for the reasons that given.
 The difference we can make in the school is to be the
teachers must be aware of it and must be careful when it
comes to quizzes or tests, so that the students will not be
given a chance to cheat and to study further and learn
from them. Since life isn't always easy, it requires bravery
for all, and all this is for their good. Because many students
now are not likely before many of them are too focused on
their phones and not given time themselves to study and
explore more the lessons that teachers discussed.
Our issue is relevant to answer…
 Because our aims in this survey are looking
deeper the factors or reasons that might students
engage in cheating so that the teachers have an
adjustments as well students also. And also the aim
of the study presented is to provide a first step in a
survey over students’ cheating, i.e. to investigate
the overall frequency, main reasons for cheating.
The study is intended as a starting point for further
in-depth survey in this area. In order to get a better
understanding of the problem, the aim is also to
relate the outcome to subjects’ backgrounds in
terms of academic experience, level of difficulty, in
order to get a deeper understanding of student
cheating behavior.
Technique Used
A convenience sampling technique and selection criteria will be used and set in the

conduct of this survey. Convenience Sampling is a non-random technique which does

not require any underlying hypotheses or a collection of informant numbers, as well as

selecting a group of individuals conveniently available for analysis. Creswell states the

use of student volunteers as subjects for study is meant through convenience sampling.

It is either a set of subjects available, or a selection of people willing to participate in the

study. Our group would set out to find certain individuals who are able to provide

information about that particular problem through experience and knowledge about

cheating. In conducting this survey, we must pick participants for the convenience of

our survey. And we can also involves our friends to be included in the sample

population.

in conducting survey. That is the time
that we used the convenience
sampling where students are available
and willing to be part of the survey.
Task 3 Modification

Social learning theory (SLT).

Bandura's social learning theory emphasizes
the importance of observing and modeling the
behaviors, attitudes, and emotional reactions of
others. This theory supposes that most human
behavior is learned observationally through
modeling. Social learning theory explains human
behavior in terms of continuous reciprocal
interaction between cognitive, behavioral, and
environmental influences.
In addition…
 Individuals who value the outcome of a situation will attempt to learn
behaviors appropriate to the situation when they believe they are
capable of acceptable performance, and the performance and outcome
are connected. SCT is relevant to patient education for three reasons.
First, this theoretical approach brings elements of knowing, feeling, and
behaving into a synergistic complex. Second, it suggests that there are
varying avenues for explaining behavior. Third, it provides an opportunity
to bring the fields of psychology and health behavior together in a
synergistic fashion. The concepts of goal setting, skill training, and other
self-care skills that are important in patient education and in a patient's
adherence to a new behavior are embedded in SCT.
Reasons that this theory is related to our
survey….

o The picture above shows the relationship of how students adopt cheating

it is because of environmental factors that might be her or his be

influenced by it. These are the following factors that they influence to do

cheating by environmental factors; desire to get good grades or

preserving a certain image for themselves or for their classmates,

believing of unfairness because others not get caught and got good

grades by wrong way, and an act of delaying or postponing something or

poor time management because of the environmental factors such as her

or his attention is on here phones rather that doing first his or her

assignments. And also behavior factors such as laziness and

procrastination.
After the survey….

March 12, 2020

After survey we proceed to
compute the total of every
reasons that checkde by the
respondents. And after that
we proceed to make a bar
graph to see the differences
of numbers who got highest
and lowest
Task 4
The Bar Graph below shows the relationship of the different answers of
students in Grade 11 HUMSS with the total respondents of fifty students.
16 Reasons

The bar graph shows the primary reason why students
of grade 11 HUMSS engage in cheating. And these are the
following results; there are six (6) of the students answered
that they don’t know the answer, next is the highest
primary reason that gets the highest number of
answers is the desire to get good grades with the
total of fourteen (14) students, the lowest answered
who got one (1) student only in belief he or she not
going to caught, eleven (11) students answered that
the reason why they have to cheat is they are lazy
when it comes to study, an act of delaying or
postponing something or poor time management of
ten (10) students, and the last have eight (8) students
who answered that they have fear of failing so that
the reason why they cheat during quizzes.
Therefore, we can conclude know that the
primary reason why student engage in
cheating is because they desire to get good
grades but in a wrong way.

Therefore, students can choose to cheat, either because they

don't know how to use effective learning strategies, or because they
don't want to spend the time using them. From a developmental
perspective, cheating will occur in various amounts and qualities
depending on the cognitive, social, and moral development rates of
the students. Our group give several different reasons for engaging in
academic cheating from a motivational perspective. Some students
are cheating because they are overly concentrated on extrinsic results
such as grades; others are cheating because they are concerned with
preserving a certain image for themselves or their peers; others are
cheating because they lack the requisite self-efficacy to participate in
complex.
Task 5 Reflection (individual)

The reflection of the individual will be

seen in the Microsoft word doxc. And
also all the reflections of the individual
will be put together as one, but individual
reflection.
