BLOOD
Submitted by: SHIVAM SHRIVASTAV
INTRODUCTION:-
Blood is a vital fluid in our body that
performs many important functions. It is
made up of different components,
including plasma, red blood cells, white
blood cells, and platelets.
PLASMA:-
Plasma is the liquid part of blood
that carries nutrients,
hormones, and waste products
throughout the body. It makes
up about 55% of blood volume.
RED BLOOD CELLS (RBC):-
Red blood cells, also known as
erythrocytes, are the most
abundant cells in blood. They
carry oxygen from the lungs to
the rest of the body and remove
carbon dioxide. Red blood cells
contain a protein called
hemoglobin, which gives blood
its red color.
WHITE BLOOD CELLS(WBC):-
White blood cells, also known as
leukocytes, are part of the
immune system and help the
body fight infections and
diseases. They make up a small
percentage of blood volume, but
they are essential for
maintaining good health.
PLATELETS:-
Platelets, also known as
thrombocytes, are cell fragments
that help the blood clot when we
have a cut or injury. They stick
together and form a clot to stop
bleeding.
Blood also plays an important role
in regulating body temperature,
maintaining pH balance, and
transporting nutrients and
hormones to different parts of the
body.
BLOOD GROUPS :-
Blood can be typed into different blood groups,
including A, B, AB, and O, depending on the
presence or absence of certain antigens on the
surface of red blood cells. In addition, people
can also be Rh-positive or Rh-negative,
depending on the presence or absence of the
Rh factor antigen. Blood transfusions must be
carefully matched to avoid reactions between
different blood types.
CONCLUSION:-
blood is a complex and essential fluid that
performs many important functions in our body.
It is made up of different components, each
with its unique role, and must be carefully
matched during transfusions to
ensure compatibility.
