What Are WC Bathrooms and Toilet ?
Bathrooms are essential functional spaces
designed for personal hygiene activities, such as
bathing, washing hands, and using the toilet.
The design of bathrooms considers both
functionality and aesthetics, taking into account
the needs of users and the overall design of the
building.

Placements of Elements
❏ Toilet Placement: Place the toilet in a location that allows for privacy. It's often positioned adjacent to or
in a separate alcove from other fixtures. Ensure there's enough space for comfortable use and easy
access.
❏ Sink and Vanity: Position the sink and vanity for easy access and efficient use. Consider the placement
of mirrors and lighting above the sink to facilitate grooming activities.
❏ Storage: Integrate storage near the vanity or mirror for toiletries, towels, and other bathroom essentials.
Utilize wall-mounted cabinets, shelves, or built-in niches to maximize space.
❏ Mirrors: Install mirrors above sinks and vanities at an appropriate height for users. Consider the size
and shape of the mirror in relation to the space and other elements.
❏ Towel Bars and Hooks: Place towel bars and hooks within easy reach of the shower or bathtub.
Consider heated towel bars for added comfort.
❏ Bathtub: Bathtub should be placed in wet area far from the entrance and wc should not be visible
from entrance

Material to Use
Ceramic Tile:
● Flooring: Durable, water-resistant, and available in a variety of styles. It's easy to clean and maintain.
● Walls: Used for shower and bath surrounds. Glazed ceramic tiles are resistant to water and stains.
Porcelain Tile:
● Flooring and Walls: Similar to ceramic tiles but more durable and less porous. Suitable for high-moisture areas.
Natural Stone:
● Flooring, Countertops, and Walls: Materials like marble, granite, and travertine can add a luxurious touch. Sealing is often
required to prevent water damage.
Vinyl Flooring:
● Budget-Friendly: Water-resistant, comfortable underfoot, and available in various designs. Ideal for those on a budget
Glass:
● Shower Enclosures: Creates an open and spacious feel. Easy to clean and maintain.
Stainless Steel:
● Fixtures: Faucets, showerheads, and towel bars made of stainless steel are durable and resistant to corrosion.
Quartz:
● Countertops: Engineered quartz is durable, non-porous, and resistant to stains and water damage.
Bathrooms according to Number of Users
Single-User Bathrooms:
● Master Bathroom: If the residential building includes master bedrooms, these typically have en-suite bathrooms
designed for one or two users. They may include luxury features like a bathtub, separate shower, and double sinks.
Multi-User Bathrooms:
● Shared Bathrooms: For bedrooms that don't have en-suite facilities, shared bathrooms may be designed. The number
of fixtures (toilets, sinks, and showers or tubs) will depend on the expected number of users. A good rule of thumb is
to have at least one fixture per every three to four users.
Family Bathrooms:
● For families with children: Consider adding features like a bathtub for children, step stools, and durable finishes.
The design should accommodate the varying needs of different age groups.
Guest Bathrooms:
● Powder Rooms or Half Baths: These are typically smaller bathrooms designed for guests and usually contain only a
toilet and a Wash Basin. They are convenient for quick visits and are often located near the common areas.

such as grab bars, a walk-in shower, or a raised toilet.
● Budget: Fix Your Budget Before planning your new bathroom, one of the first things to consider is your budget.
There are also Premium Segments like ROCA and KOHLER on the other hand Affordable segments are also there
● Location: Make sure to Vastu Shastra offers flexibility in bathroom placement within a flat. The west direction is
deemed suitable for a bathroom, and variations like West to Northwest or Northwest to North are also
considered acceptable.
