About UK Student Visa

• The precondition and guarantee for studying in the UK;
• Study and live legally;
• Tier 4 Student Visa including General student visa, Child Sudent Visa and Study English in the
UK （ Short-term study visa).
About UK Student Visa

• As an international student, a visa is the prerequisite and

guarantee for studying in the UK.
• By applying for a student visa, international students can
ensure that they can study and live legally in the UK.
The role of the UK • Therefore, the biggest role of a student visa is to allow us to
obtain legal study qualifications.
Student Visa
• The validity period on the visa page is generally only 90 days,
which is the time allowed to enter the UK.
• It is necessary to collect BRP when students arrive in the UK.
By Dec. 31, 2024, the BRP system will be replaced.

According to different ages and different study lengths, there are three types of
student visas in the UK: General Student Visa, Child Student Visa and Study
English in the UK (Short-term study visa).

Requirements
Based on the official website of the UK government and my past application
experience, the materials required to apply for a UK student visa are summarized
as follows: CAS, Money, Language Transcript, Passport, TB Test and Dormitory
Contract.

• Some universities may not be able to provide unconditional offers in time, but students
must provide a CAS valid for at least 6 months when applying;
#01 CAS • Sensitive majors need to complete an Academic Technology Approval Scheme
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (ATAS) application (e.g Graduate students in science and engineering).

Requirements
for applying for #02 Money
• Used to prove that the applicant has sufficient financial support;

a UK Student Visa
• Certificate of deposit for at least 28 days: tuition for 1 academic year + living expenses
for 9 months;
• Preferably deposit in the applicant's account.

#03 Language • Language certificate: IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo or LanguageCert, etc.

• Specific choices need to consider whether universities recognizes

University students under the age of 18 require parental consent.

Application Processes

• Gov.uk ➡ Student Visa ➡ Start;

• Fees: application fees - £490 + IHS fees - £470 per year;

Online Application • The address for collecting BRP can be the university or the post office;
• If students choose to collect it at the universitiy, they need to search for the
ACL code in advance (e.g the ACL Code of UoM is 2HE 372);

• Students can upload CAS and other files on the VFS page
