Iguazu Falls

Thirteen years ago Iguazú
Falls were officially
consecrated as one of the
New Seven Natural
Wonders of the World. The
ceremony took place in the
Iguazú National Park, and
was attended by the
President of the New Seven
Wonder Foundation.

Introduction
The Iguazú Falls originate from the Iguazú
River, located between the border of

waterfalls or jumps.
How were they formed?

The falls were formed by a volcanic eruption,
followed by tectonic movements that caused a
Rift Valley.

The powerful force of water erosion from the
Iguazu River sculpted the unique landscape of
the falls.

It is 45 meters high and can
live for centuries.
They are considered a UNESCO Natural Heritage for their cultural and natural importance.

The “Cascada del Diablo” is the largest, with 80 meters high.

Iguazú Falls have been part of films such as: "The Mission" and "Indiana Jones and the
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."
