    It dates from before the arrival of Confucianism or Buddhism Was introduced in to Viet Nam by the Chinese during their long occupation of the country. It is based on the belief the soul lives on after death and becomes the protect of its descendant

    The practice of it is relatively simple. Nearly every house, office, business in VN has a small altar. A lot of things put on the altar, such as fruit, gifts After worship, the paper gifts are burnt so that the spirts of the gifts can ascend to heaver for the ancestor to use.

    III. Conclusions
    Ancestor worship is recognized as the core of Vietnamese cultural identity. As a ritual of return to the origin. Ancestor worship has been called the national religion of Vietnam as well as Vietnams religion of nationalism.
