• A specific form of writing
• Concisely identifying or examining issues, events, or findings
• Findings from a research investigation
• Issues identified within a body of literature
• Three features: a pre-defined structure, independent sections and reaching
unbiased conclusions.
Elements of Report Writing
• Executive Summary: Brief overview of the report along with the key
points of the report with supporting evidences.
• Introduction: Purpose & objectives, describing the background and the
problems, presenting the answer, and highlighting the report’s scope.
• Discussion: Describing the conclusion and justifying the recommendation.
• Conclusion: Major problems and interpretation, relating to the objectives
& restating the main points together.
