Innovative Design of
Safety Outlet with
Integrated Load Tracking
and Switch Technology
ABSTRACT
The rapid advancement in electrical technology and the
increasing demand for safe and efficient power usage have driven
the need for innovative solutions in electrical outlets. Energy is
wasted if the outlets are left switched on unintentionally. It is
difficult to be detected without the aid of a measuring or
monitoring device (Jian Jing, 2020). Aside from energy is wasted,
left switched on or outlets with current flowing can cause electric
problems (short circuits, overload, overcurrent and overheating).
This research explores the innovative design of a safety
outlet with integrated load tracking and switch technology that
enhance safety and energy management in households and
commercial spaces and aims to innovate the outlets into a safety

the main purpose is to achieve the following: enhance electrical
safety, optimize the energy efficiency, current and real-time load
tracking, switch control system, and quality with safety standards
outlet. In conclusion, innovative electrical outlets address the
contemporary challenges of electrical safety and power
management. The safety outlet with integrated load tracking and

conserving energy, and improving user convenience.
INTRODUCTION
The need for creative solutions in electrical safety and energy
efficiency is greater than ever in the changing of technological
advancements in environment of today. One of the fundamental
aspects of modern living is the access to electrical power, and as for
dependence on electronic devices continues to grow, ensuring both
safety and efficiency in the electrical systems becomes essential
concern. Internet of Things (IoT) was indeed making significant
impact into the household appliance industry thus IoT technology
was being integrated into a wide range of household appliances,
transforming them into smart devices that is why this study is
innovating a IoT based safety outlet with tracking and switch control
system.
INTRODUCTION
Traditional electrical outlets, while functional, often lack the
ability to provide real-time information about the electrical load
connected to them. In addition, the absence of an integrated switch
mechanism can lead to unnecessary energy wastage where most of
the situation are outlets are left switched on. The "Safety Outlet with
Integrated Load Tracking and Switch Technology" is designed that
aims to overcome these limitations by combining advanced safety
features and load tracking and switching capabilities.
This innovative approach, electrical outlets in our homes,
workplaces, and other spaces become much safer and more energy-
efficient places to engage with. Features and benefits of this
innovative electrical outlet, highlights its potential to improve
electrical safety and energy efficiency, and ultimately enhance our
daily lives in a world increasingly powered by technology.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
MATERIALS
• The outlet housing is constructed using high-quality,
fire-resistant, and non-conductive materials, such as flame-resistant
polymers, to reduce the risk of electrical fires and maintain structural
integrity.
• Electrical components such as wires, connections, and sockets are
chosen based on their dependability and capacity to support a range of
loads.
• To detect and measure the electrical load, load tracking devices are
incorporated into the design, such as smart meters and current sensors.
These sensors are essential for enabling energy-efficient use and for
delivering real-time data on power consumption.
• Switching technology (IoT based) advanced switching technology such as

aligning with sustainability goals. The outlet's user-friendly design simplifies power
management, making it a valuable solution for various applications. While
acknowledging potential limitations and areas for further research, the technology's
real-world applications in smart homes and commercial spaces show promise for
improved energy efficiency and safety. Compliance with existing regulations ensures
reliability and trust, ultimately transform how to interact with electrical outlets.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Bai, Y. W. and Hung, C. H. (2008), designed a remote power on/off control
and a current measurement for electric outlets, based on both an embedded
board and on ZigBee communication. The measurement data of the current
and voltage detection can be stored in the embedded board, and they can be
designed to become aware of any overload and to send out a message to the
circuit breaker for safety.
In the study of Du and Liu (2019), a smart socket design scheme based on
NB-IoT is proposed to explore the intelligent upgrade of household
appliances. The experimental results show that the smart socket realizes the
remote monitoring and management of the household appliances by the
user without changing the function of the traditional socket, and promotes
the overall intelligent development of the smart home.
In the paper of Sanchez, et al. (2014), they present a modular system for
remote monitoring and control of energy consumption. They demonstrate
the application of the proposed system for electric energy monitoring and
control in domestic or medium size office installations. This whole system is
integrated in a single platform and consists of different modules: one or
several smart plugs including a wireless communication interface for
connection to a WiFi network, and a centralized application server.
According to Lin (2018), one of the most popular applications is remotely
controlled smart sockets. Most commercial smart socket products allow the
user to control single-sockets. This paper proposes a smart socket system
called MorSocket (“more sockets”) that allows the user to control multiple
separated sockets within a control webpage. These sockets share the same
wireless communication module and therefore the hardware cost of
MorSocket is lower than the single-socket solutions.
The article of Lee and Yang (2017) proposes a smart power management
framework system, which comprises three parts. Part 1: a smart plug.
Controlling the switching power supply, different sensors can be mounted for
different application environments. The power supply can be switched on/off
automatically according to environmental changes. Part 2: a smart gateway.
This can act as the mediation module for communication and implement the
concept of fog computing. The local inference model is built and deployed by
deep learning, and the model is learned, updated, and improved
continuously to increase the intelligent control efficiency. Part 3: a
management platform and mobile app. This allows for data visualization and
a remote control for a user interface medium for scheduling.
