 INTRODUCTION:
what is 5 pen pc technologies?
• 5 pen pc is a “pen-style personal networking gadget
package (P-ISM)”.
• The P-ISM consists of a package of 5 pen with each
having unique functions, combining together to create
a virtual computing experience.
• P-ISM are connected with one another via a short-range
wireless technology.
Why 5 pen pc?
When writing a quick note, pen and paper are still the most
natural to use.
The 5 pen pc technology with
digital pen and paper makes it
possible to get a digital copy
of handwritten information,
and have it sent to digital via
Bluetooth.
HISTORY:
• “Pen-style personal networking Gadget “
created in 2003 by Japanese technology
company NEC.
• It’s designer was “TourIchihash”.
• P-ISM was first featured at the
2003 ITU-Telecom world held
in Geneva, Switzerland.
WORKING PRINCIPLE:
This “pen sort of instrument “ produces both the monitor as
well as the keyboard on any flat surfaces from where you can
carry out functions you would normally do on your desktop
computer.
How it takes input:
It has two methods for input
1. With the virtual keyboard
2. With digital camera
Operating system used:
Dual core processor embedded and works with windows os.
COMPONENTS:
5 pen pc technology depends on the five functions or components:
1. CPU pen
2. Communication pen
3. LED projector pen
4. Virtual keyboard
5. Digital camera
1.CPU pen:
• The functionality of the CPU is
done by one of the pen.
• It is also known as computer
engine.
• Dual core processor is used.
• Works with windows operating
system .
2. Communication pen:
• Wireless Bluetooth technology.
• Connected to internet through
cellular phone.
• Uses Wi-Fi technology.
• Exchange information with
Wireless connection.
3. LED projector pen:
• Monitor is LED projector.
• Size is A4.
• Resolution capacity is
1024×768 approximately.
• It gives more quality and
good picture.
4. Virtual keyboard:
• It emits laser on desk.

• Uses laser beam to generate

full-size perfect keyboard.

• Virtual keyboard settings can

be changed.
5. Digital camera:
• It is useful in video recording.
• Connected with other devices.
• Portable.
• 360 degree visual communication
device.

FEATURES:
Following are the some of the features of 5 pen pc:
• Security:
In order to LOGIN to the computer biometric technology is
implemented (e-finger printing).
• Backup:
These are capable of storing large bytes of data and accessing
also fast and efficient.
• Portability:
This 5 pen pc produces both the monitor as well as keyboard
on any flat surface so it is portable.
• Battery:
a. It is the most important part in the portable type of
computers.
b. Usually batteries are small in size work for a long time.
c. It comes with a battery life of 6+ that is 6 days.
d. For normal use it can be used for two weeks.
ADVANTAGES:
1.It is more portable.
2.It has a very long lasting battery.
3.It works on wireless technology, making it
much more modern and easier.
4.It takes less space.
DISADVANTAGES:
1.The positioning of pens is very important. Slight
disturbances would hamper entire setup.
2.It works only on wireless technology there is a
limit of the range in which this device can perform.
3.Keyboard concept is not new.
4.It is a cost effective technology.
APPLICATIONS:
Many researches has been made but there is no
clear result so far.
Only one that uses is E-finger printing the
gadget will be more secure, which allows
only owner to activate the pc.
So, even if we loose it, no one else can access
the gadget.
CONCLUSION:

• With the revolution of miniature computers,

scientists have made great developments with
Bluetooth technology and the communication
devices are becoming more effective.
