Computer Hacking
• Can be described as the intruders getting into your house without your
permission

• Hacker commissioned to challenge the integrity of the security features of
a website that is a legitimate computer hacker.
• Hacker that maliciously gets into your email account or any financial
related website to get your personal information.
CYBERBULLYING
Is the “willful and repeated harm inflicted on others through the use
of computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices.
The elements involved in cyberbullying are:

• It must be willful. It is deliberate and not an accident.


• It has to be a repeated action. It goes through a pattern of behavior
and did not happen as an isolated case or incident.
• It is harmful. It has ill effects on the individual being inflicted to.
• It is inflicted using any form of technology. It happens using a form
of technology.
People who are cyberbullied are more likely to:

• Use alcohol and drugs.


• Skip school.
• Bully others.
• Perform poorly in school.
• Have lower self-esteem.
• Develop more health problems.
INTERNET SCAMS
PHISHING EMAILS AND PHONY WEB PAGES

The most rampant Internet and email scam these days is “Phishing.”
This happens when digital thieves get password of your account in
your bank account, credit card account, and others.
TRAVEL SCAMS

This type of scam is usually most active during summer and holiday
season. You will receive an email with the offer to get low fares to
some destinations, but its not.
ADVANCE FEES FOR A GUARANTEED LOAN OR CREDIT CARD
This cam asks possible credit card user or loaner to pay the annual
fee in advance so that they are guaranteed to get a loan or a credit
card with a massive credit limit.
NIGERIAN SCAM

This famous email scam coming from a member of a rich Nigeria


Family, asks for your help in getting a large amount of money.
LOTTERY OR CONTEST SCAMS

This email scam informs you that you won a large amount of money
in a lottery or contest. To claim your prize, you should pay the
processing fee for a certain amount.
HOW TO AVOID DIFFERENT
INTERNET SCAMS
• Do not believe the promise of large sums of money for your
cooperation.
• Call the credit card company or the bank to confirm if they are
really asking advanced payment of annual fees.
• Be skeptical.
• Be doubtful if a friend or someone you know really send an
email message asking for money.
• Guard you account information carefully.

Each time you visit a website, a cookie is created. This contains


information about your activities on the web. This may reveal
personal information about you that is embedded or identified with
the computer are using.
GOOD ETIQUTTE SHOULD BE USED ON THE INTERNET

• Do not chat with stranger.


• Keep personal information out of your profile.
• Never get out personal information.
• Do not share information.
• Refrain from making comments.
• Be aware of all the files that you open.
EMAIL One of the most commonly used Internet services.

• Select Unique Passwords.
• Never open suspicious attachments.
• Do not reply to spam.
• Always log out your email account after use.
