AIR POLLUTION IN CHINA

Impacts of Air
Pollution
China’s air pollution has affected the environment by reducing visibility,
blocking sunlight and causing acid rain. These all help to affect wildlife
and living conditions for the citizens living there. Low visibility can lead
to more accidents, especially on the road. Acid rain can also be highly
dangerous. Habitats of animals are also taken up for the purpose of
development. The greenhouse gasses also released into the air have aided
global warming which affects the entire world. Global warming has led to
a rise in sea levels and in temperature which China’s air pollution arguably
plays huge responsibility in. In 2015 a study by physicists showed that 1.6
million people die from problems related to lung, heart and stroke
problems every year. Air pollution plays a huge part in this as the particles
in the air in polluted cities like Beijing can harm the lungs and heart of
people and has been deemed, ‘unhealthy’ by experts. There have been
many complaints about China’s air quality because of this.
Impacts of poor sanitation and water

China’s poor water quality has been caused by the air

pollution in China that had come because of China’s
industrial revolution. This poor-quality water, according to a
study in 2014 has caused 60,000 people in China to die
every year from liver and gastric cancer. There have been
many complaints by civilians to the government about this
issue. The global warming has also caused there to be less
water in China. This could cause a drought which can affect
wildlife and human life severely. China’s need for water
could lead to a food crisis due to water having to be
imported there.
