INTRODUCTION
• Smart attendance system is designed to take
attendance in a smart way using advanced
technology that is using face recognition.
• This application can recognise multiple face at a
same instance. This application uses open CV
( Open computer Vision) Module to recognise
faces.

PROBLEM DEFINITION:

* Traditionally, students attendance during lecturer session are taken

manually by using attendance sheet given by the faculty in the class
which is a time consuming event.

* Moreover, it is very difficult to verify one by one student in the large

practical lab with distributed branches whether the authenticated
students are actually responding or not.
 REAL WORLD APPLICATION OF FACE RECOGINITION

Face recognition is currently being used to make the world safer, smarter and more convenient.
There are few use cases.
 Finding missing person
 Retail crime
 Security identification
 Identifying accounts on social media Done.
 School attendance system
 Recognising drivers in car

There are several methods to perform facial recognition depending on the performance and
complexity.
