Regular Savings Account
 Savings Account is interest-bearing account that has no defined
date of maturity and it may be opened with a minimum initial
deposit amount
 7% interest rate.
 Interest will be calculated for not less than 50 birr;
 It is mandatory to open with passbook for illiterates
 Interest calculated on the minimum balance commencing the
date of the deposit;

Slanchi Savings Account
 Slanchi savings account is a product designed to
ensure that women are the foremost beneficiaries of
the banking services by providing better financial
remunerations;
 The account can only be opened by women who
attained age of majority i.e. 18 years old;
 A minimum of Birr 50.00 [Fifty] is needed as an
initial deposit;
 The bank issues ATM card for free for the first time;

Slanchi Savings Account
 Additional interest is attached to the product as per
the under listed range:-

 Yellow:-Selanchi saving deposit within the range of


Birr 50.00≤x≥10,000.00 will get interest rate of 7.5%;
 Orange:-Selanchi Deposit within the range of
10,000.00≤x≥50,000.00 shall be 8%;
 Blue:-Selanchi saving Deposit account with deposit
greater than Birr 50,000.00 will get interest rate of 9%

Slanchi Savings Account
 If the balance of the account falls below Birr 50- in a
given month only the minimum interest rate will be
paid for that particular month;
 passbook with a cover page sticker portraying that
the account is unique to women;

 Loan Facility
 Such depositor shall be eligible for
“Silanchi “loan facility against collateral;
 Silanchi Loan Features
 ▪ Personal Loan -The following are eligibility criteria
 - Six months regular pattern-based deposit to the account –
 If collateral is deposit balance in Silanchi account, the
acceptable collateral coverage will be 80%
 ▪ Vehicle Loan The following are eligibility criteria - For all
type of cars, one year regular pattern-based deposit to the
account is

 Brand new Cars
 - If the women applied to buy brand new vehicle, equity contribution will be 20%.
 Used Cars
 - If the woman applied to buy used vehicle, equity contribution will be
 30%
 if the vehicles year of manufacture is less than 7 years and repayment of loan will be 7 years.
 40% if vehicle’s YoM is more than seven but less than or equal to 15 years. Repayment of
loan shall be 7 years
 If the vehicle’s YoM is more than 15 years, additional collateral will be required and
repayment period will be 7 years.

Children Savings Account
 It is for children below the age of eighteen
 Any deposit of Birr 50 and above shall be eligible for
minimum deposit interest rate plus 0.5%

 Account can be opened with any amount less than Birr 50


and eligible for the prevailing minimum interest rate

 The parent or guardian of the minor shall produce


relevant documents, such as birth certificate of the minor
or a letter of appointment from a court (applicable to a
guardian).

Hybrid Savings Account
 It is interest bearing account operated by checks
 It is eligible for interest payment up to frequency
of five withdrawals
 Initial minimum deposit is Birr 100.00
 The minimum balance for interest payment is
Birr 50.00
 A depositor shall be entitled to interest payment
on her or his deposit if the minimum balance is
Birr 500,000 and above even if there are five or
more withdrawals in a month.

Premium Savings Account
 Higher interest rate than the minimum
 Operated both by cheque and Pass book except silver customer
 There are three categories:
 platinum፡ እናት ልዩ; Save above Median balance 2,000,000
[9%]
 Diamond፡ እናት ኩራት; Save above Median balance 1,000,000
[8%]
 Silver ፡ እናት ለሁሉ Save above Median balance 100,000 [7.5%]
 Platinum deposit account customers are able to withdraw up to Birr
25,000 by using special ATM Card within a day.

Golden Savings Account
 This account is for the customer that commensurate with the
marginal increase in deposit amount above the minimum threshold-
growth-pattern.
 The fixed rate is based on income of the customer, minimum
Br.3,000.00 [Base Balance]
 The minimum growth pattern expected by a customer to be at least
40% over a quarter to justify the additional interest payment ;
 A 1% plus additional interest shall be paid on this product provided
the customer managed to attain the growth pattern in the preceding
quarter;
 It is longer-term commitment accounts, focused on saving towards a
more distant event as preferred by the customer.

Non Interest Savings Account
 This is a type of savings account that bears no
interest (0%)
 This account is opened upon the request of
customers due to religious or other personal
interest;

Enat Belhat Savings Account
 This deposit type helps the Bank to broaden the deposit
base by making some changes to the feature of time
deposit account to make it more attractive to lower and
middle income segment of the society.

 The minimum deposit balance that makes a customer


eligible to additional 1% interest rate (8%) will be to have
deposit balance of Birr 50,000.00 (fifty thousand) at any
point in time within one year.

 The balances below Birr 50,000.00 will be paid the same


minimum interest rate of as regular savings.

Enat Belhat Savings Account
 The minimum deposit tenure shall be one year.

 Once deposit is accepted customer can make frequent


deposits onto the account but not allowed to make
withdrawals before one year tenure starting from account
opening date.

 After one year customer can carry out normal operation


on the account and yet eligible to additional interest rate
of 1.25% if the deposit balance maintained Birr
50,000.00.

Enat Marefiya Deposit
Account
 Enat marefiya deposit account is an account that
target Senior Citizen with age of 55 and above who
own money but lack the courage to venture into
other investment options but largely prefer to deposit
their money in banks that pay better interest rate on
deposits;
 Interest rate on such deposit shall be the minimum
interest plus 2%;
 Initial deposit of Birr 50 shall suffice to earn the plus
2% interest rate;

Enat Marefiya Deposit
Account
 Such account can be opened with less than Birr 50
but eligible to only the minimum interest rate;
 Such customers shall be served at separate window if
their number warrants or at Branch Manager or
Customer Service Manager table;
 Loan facility or credit facility attached to this
product type .

ENAT SETOTA Deposit
Account
 Enat Setota deposit account is an account that targeted those
customers whose yearly income is below Birr 50,000.00. Shoe
shines, roadside coffee boilers, roadside vendors, etc. are under
such target customers category;
 Enat Bank shall give a reward of Birr 100 as an initial deposit to
those customers who are willing to sustainably deposit their
money at the Bank;
 Minimum interest rate plus 0.5% shall be applied to such
deposits;
 The gift of Birr 100 shall be void and reversed if a depositor is to
close the account within six months or the account remained
inactive without any additional deposit.

ENAT TENA Deposit Account
 Enat Tena deposit account is an account that targets
those customers who have the plan to save for their
future healthcare expenditure. Expectant mothers,
families, association, individuals etc. are the focal
market;
 Interest applicable on such deposit shall be the
minimum interest rate plus 0.5%;
 The minimum deposit amount that shall make a
depositor eligible to gain plus 0.5% interest rate is
Birr 50.00. However, deposits less than Birr 50 are
eligible for the minimum deposit interest rate;

ENAT TENA Deposit Account
 Well branded Enat Tena Card shall be given to
depositors who have maintained the deposit account
for at least six months. The card allows the depositor
(holder) to benefit from health service discount;
 Enat Tena Card shall be renewed every six months
from the date of issue;
 The card shall be given for free for the first time and
at payment in the afterwards.

Zekat Saving Account
 Zakat saving Account is an account that is designed to
address Muslim fellow citizens who contribute for Zekat.
 There are two type of Zakat Saving account
 Zakat interest Bearing saving account
 For customers who do not refuse to receive interest payment
 Zakat Non-interest bearing saving account
 For customers who refuse to receive interest payment
 Additional 1% interest rate paid on Zakat deposit
account for amount greater than 50.00 to address the
demand of those who do not refuse to receive interest

YeEnat Gebeta Saving Account
 The product is named after YeEnat Gebeta which represents a
traditional plate on which different mix of foods is served;
 This product target customer are women of different
economic background and engaged in micro, small and
medium businesses;
 Under the umbrella of YeEnat Gebeta there are three
collateral fund saving products and one saving product

Enat Agajz Saving

 Enat Agajz saving account is an account opened


by a person who volunteers to offer his, her or
their deposit as collateral for a minimum term
of three years to women who can’t afford to
offer collateral for her loan request;

 Interest rate applicable to such deposit shall be


the basic plus 1.5%;

Enat Enderassie Saving
 Enat Enderassie saving account is an account opened by a
person who is willing to offer the deposit opened in his/her/their/
name as collateral for the loan granted to a business woman who
cannot offer collateral for her loan request.
 Such woman shall be of the depositor’s choice and it would
mean the Bank shall act on behalf of the depositor;
 The interest rate applicable to such deposit shall be the basic
pulse 1%;
 The additional 1% interest rate shall be revoked if such deposit
has missed its purpose of serving as a collateral for the loan it is
intended for;
 Such deposit shall be kept in a blocked status for a maximum
period of three years after loan disbursement.

Enat LeRassie Saving
 Enat LeRassie saving is an account opened by a
woman who is willing to apply for a working
capital or business related loan to run her
micro, small and medium businesses;
 Such woman depositor is required to make
consecutive pattern based deposit for six months
to their account to be eligible for loan request;
 The interest rate applicable to such deposit shall
be the basic or the minimum interest rate.

Enat LeGash Fund Deposit Account
 No interest paid on such account;
 The deposit account is a General Ledger Account
opened in the Bank to mobilize fund from individuals
who are voluntary to contribute to such fund;
 The fund is a non-refundable revolving fund to be
held as collateral for loans granted to woman who
cannot offer tangible collateral for their loan
request;
 A volunteer can make deposit to this account from a
penny to big amounts.
 Loan facility attached to this product to address

Agar Saving Account
 This product is designed to address banking service need
of target customers i.e. the housemaids who are hired as
house workers;
 The product is named and branded as Agar Saving
Account to literally signify housemaids are helpers to their
hirers;
 Interest paid on such deposit shall be the minimum interest
rate on deposit as decided by NBE pulse 1%;
 Women financial solution department shall arrange
financial literacy training, childcare, cookery etc. training
for those housemaids who have depository relationship
with Enat Bank;

Agar Saving Account
 In certain cases, housemaids may not possess
identification card or any documents that describes
them. Whenever such happens
 The employers shall and supposed to bring their housemaids
with them and open a deposit account earmarked as for
account followed by the name a housemaid,

 The housemaids shall submit copy of the contract agreement


signed between the two, if any, that testify the presence of
employee-employer relationship;

 In the absence of signed agreement the housemaids and the


employer shall confirm to the Bank in writing the presence of
such relationship between the two;

Agar Saving Account
 If these preconditions are not fulfilled the housemaid
shall open saving account developed for
undocumented citizens which is named as Enat
Ashara Saving account.
 The Bank may cover a school tuition fee of one year
for a housemaids based on her deposit performance.
Those who do not attend schools shall be rewarded
equivalent amount in the form of financial reward;

Enat Student Saving Account
 Students who are attending their education at
Colleges, Universities and similar higher
institutions;
 The interest rate on such deposit shall be the basic
interest on deposit as decided by the National Bank
of Ethiopia plus 0.5%;

 A student shall pay tuition fees by using the


Digital Banking Service of Enat Bank from such
account;

Enat Student Saving Account
 If a student does not have DBS, he/she may pay in
cash or though manual fund transfer;
 To facilitate student tuition fee payments the
college, the university or the higher institutions
required to open an account at Enat Bank;
 The bank may reward students pursuing their
studies in higher institution that have established
strong relationship with Enat Bank.
 Those who ranked first in their academic
performance from the entire batch can be rewarded.

Enat Student Saving Account
 The reward may be financial reward like covering
tuition fee for certain period of time or any other
reward as decided by the Bank;
 The Bank may also create employment opportunity

 Transactions are expected at frequent interval

 ii. Business organizations that have legal personality;
 iii. Provident Fund Scheme Units of organizations;
 iv. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs, both local and international);
 v. International Organizations and Diplomatic missions;
 vi. Religious Organizations;
 vii. Associations, such as:
 viii. Farmers associations;
 ix. Kebele associations;
 x. Credit associations;
 xi. Professional associations;
 xii. Edir, etc.
 xiii. Housing cooperatives;
 xiv. Ethiopians living abroad;
 xv. Foreign citizens of Ethiopian origin; and

 . Letter of support or certificate of registration
from the appropriate government body certifying
the establishment of the association or Edir;
 ii. Duly registered memorandum and articles of

empowered to operate the Bank account

 iv. Valid ID of the incumbents named to operate


the account.

Religious organizations shall present:

 Written application letter to open an account;


 Letter of support from the Patriarch or her/his designate, for the
Orthodox Church;
 Letter of support from the Cardinal or her/his designate, for the
Catholic Church;
 Letter of support from the Islamic Council Office, for Islamic
Organizations;
 Letter of support from the President or her/his designate, for the
Ethiopian Evangelical Church;
 For all other religious denominations, letter of support from the
Ministry of Justice or Office of Association and Registration or
the next higher echelon/organ of the specific denomination, as the
case may be; and
 vii. Valid ID of the persons who operate
Enat Bank the account.

Business organizations shall present:
 i. Letter of application to open an account duly
designating signatories appointed to operate the
account;
 ii. Registration license/certificate from the
concerned government body;
 iii. Trade license from a government body, which
is authorized to issue such license;
 iv. Memorandum and articles of association,for
private limited companies and share
companies; and
 v. Valid ID of authorized signatories.

Public schools and clubs shall present:
 Letter of application to open an account;
 A letter of support from the
 Ministry of Education or Regional Office for public schools;
 Regional Sport Commission Office for sport clubs;
 concerned authorities for other clubs;
 Names of persons authorized to operate the account as
specified in the document,
 Valid ID of the persons who operate the account;
 Memorandum and articles of association or other
relevant documents; and
 Certificate of registration or other relevant documents.

. Local and foreign NGOs shall present:

 i. Application letter to open an account;


 ii. Authorization from the Charities and Societies Agency
to operate in the country (for both foreign and local NGOs);
 iii. Authentication letter from the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs (for foreign NGOs);
 iv. Constitution/Charter or any other document, which
governs the specific NGO;
 v. Names of persons authorized to operate the account as
specified in the Constitution/Charter or any other document;
 vi. Valid IDs or passports of the persons who are appointed
to operate the account;
 vii. Work or resident permit (for foreign

Public enterprises shall present:

 Formal letter from the respective Board of Directors or


General Manager, as the case may be, specifying, among
other things, the names of authorized signatories to operate
the account;
 Letter of appointment from the General Manager;
 A Negarit Gazette that bears relevant proclamation for its
establishment; and
 Valid IDs of the authorized signatories.

Cooperative societies shall present:

 Application letter to open an account specifying, among


others, the names of signatories to operate the account;
 Certificate of registration issued by the appropriate
authority;
 Letter of authorization from the respective organizing body;
 Approved and registered co-operatives’ rules and
regulations, which shall bear the official stamp of the
registering body and the co-operatives; and
 Valid IDs of the authorized signatories.

Limits on Deposit Account Operations

The Maximum cash withdrawal limit shall be


 Ethiopian Birr 50,000.00 /Fifity thousand/ per day and
Ethiopian Birr 1,000,000.00/One million/per month for
a natural person and
 Ethiopian Birr 75,000.00/Seventy Thousand/ per day
and 2,500,000.00/Two Million Five hundred Thousand/
per month for a juridical person.
 The Bank may exceptionally approve cash withdrawal
in excess of the limit for customers based on Bank’s
criteria set on “Exception of Cash Withdrawal
Procedure Manual”.
