– General public hospital founded in 1875

– the largest Istrian health institution
– 1300 employees:
191 MD specialists, 78 Residents, 564 nurses
– about 8,000 modern surgical procedures
and hospitalize about 16 000 patients
– total of 22 medical activities
– 432 beds
– 8x existing ORs on two locations (before new ORs)

The CHALLANGE

 Due to lack of specialization, a solution for instructing staff

online was needed.

 Central storage and easy access of recorded surgical

procedures were required.

 Lack of a solution for video streaming and collaboration

among surgeons inside and outside of the hospital.

 Many suppliers for medical equipment were involved in this

large project.

The SOLUTION

 MedPresence convinced us due to the increased collaboration

opportunities including interactive two-way telestration.

 Olympus offered a vendor- neutral turnkey solution for video routing,

medical device and peripherals control, streaming, remote collaboration, and
medical content management, including the integration of Dräger and
BrainLab technologies.

 Olympus has been a trustful partner for Pula General Hospital and assisted the
team from design to installation and training.

The RESULT
 Easier communication and collaboration across the hospital.

 Surgeons are able to perform surgery in 4K with precision.

 Increased workflow efficiency through simplified and

centralized control of mmedical equipment.

 Recorded procedures are easily accessible from anywhere

in the hospital.

 Pula General Hospital becomes European Reference Center for EASYSUITE,

allowing other hospitals to gain an impression of the technology and supporting
professional knowledge exchange among specialists.
