ARABIC IS LANGUAGE OF QURAN

ISM- Person, place , thing, idea, adverb, adjective and more
F’IL- action and time bound
HARF- Meaningless and come always with either ism or fil.

STATUS
• ALIF LAAM(The):
- Specific
- No tanveen with Alif Laam
• Convert Common(H) to Specific(L)
- Add Alif Laam
- Remove Tanveen
- Remove extra N from combination
- Finish alif to make light.
- Every word on page 6 should be H but can be made L.
- If you AL at the beginning, the question of light and heavy
becomes invalid.

• Masc Plural(oona,eena)
• Fem Plural(aatun,aatin)
• Human Broken Plural- BP(she,they)

• Plurals because Arabs said so(naas, qawm.qarn)

ABOUT BROKEN
PLURALS(BP’S)
• Observations:
1-You cant predict BP what they are going to be.
2- Most words have BP.
3- Without vocab,they look like singular because they
don’t have combinations rather they have ending
sounds.
4- Critical vocabulary is important to learn to analyze BP.
5- Arabs consider NBP as single Female or plural.(e.g
Tilka Rusulun- > They say (she says).
6- They consider NBP as single female(she) e.g Jabalun.
COMBINATIONS
- Combinations gives you 3 things
1- Status
2- Number
3- Gender
GENDER
- Masculine
- Feminine
Masculine:
• Taa does not always mean F.
• Masuline until proven Feminine.
• All words in quran are Masuline until proven Feminine.
Feminine:
• Real Feminine-Females Gender, Biological
• Fake Feminine – Grammer Feminine , Not have biological
gender. e.g laptop,moon etc.
• In English ( he she it ) but Arabic has no ‘it’.
GENDER
Conditions of Fake Feminine:
1- Certain Letter Endings( Yaa, Taa, Alif Hamza) e.g
rahmatun,asaamun,husna etc.
2- Feminine because Arabs said so.
3- Body parts in pairs.
4- Broken Plurals.(SF,PM)
TYPE
1- Common ism
2- Proper ism
• All isms are common unless proven proper.
• Only learn proper ism.
7 Types of Proper Ism.
1- Specific names.
2- Words with AL.(no Tanveen)- It removes sound(Tanveen) not
combination(noon)
3- Pronouns
4-Pointers( Zalika , Tilka, This/That)
5-Ism Mowsool( Alazi,Alati, Which/Who)
6- The One being Called (Yaa)- Light Version
7-if ism after of is proper -> then ism before of is proper. E.g messanger of
Allah.

• Two conditions of Mudaf
1- No AL(No Tanveen)
2- Light Version

• One condition of Mudaf Ilah -> Jarr

4 reasons to make an ism Light:
1- Partly flexible
2-when you call someone
3-when you say – absolutely no- LAA ILAHA
4- A Mudaf must be light.

WHAT IS BROKEN PLURAL?
• If it is plural without being from the other 3, it is broken
plural. You can only recognize it by knowing the meaning.
• The only crazy arabic rule where grammer and meaning
contradict.
• HUMAN BROKEN PLURALS( humans,jinns , angles) 
she/they
• Non- Human Broken Plurals  she
• In Translation, Both of the above are ‘they’ but in grammer
they can be ‘she’.

4 Properties of ism:
Status(R/N/J), Number(1/2/3), Gender(M/F), Type(P/C)
Fragment: More Than a word but less than a sentence.
5 Fragments:
1- Mudaf & Mudaf ilahi = IDAFA
1- IDAFA:
• No long distance relationship.
• The property of mudaf type is dictated by mudaf ilahi.
• Both Mudaf & Mudaf ilahi should be isms.
• MISQAALA ZARATTIN --> N/1/M/C.
• Bani Israel--> NJ/3/M/P

ILAH(IDAFA)
3 kinds of idafa.
1- “of” translation e.g Imam of Masjid.
2- Pronouns attached to ism. E.g His House.
3- Special Mudafs e.g Under the earth (Tahtul Ard)
PRONOUNS
• Pronouns are rebels.
• They only have Rafah version.
• Four things of isms don’t apply on pronouns.

2- Attached Pronouns(N/J)->cousins

1. Harf e jaria
• Any word comes after Harf e Jaria will have Jar.

2. Harf e Nasb
• Any word(ism) comes after Harf e Nasb will have Nasb.
