WHAT IS

-Is a form of government in which


the rulers are elected by the people.
-Is a form of government allows
people to choose their rulers.

(demokratia)”. It means
“people power”. Rules by the
people and for the people.

beliefs and all other products of
a particular group of people that
are passed on from generation

- Defined as the desire ability of


individuals in a population to
participate actively, individually
and together, to the government

the construction of collective decisions.

responsibility, for the construction and
maintenance of the common good.

environment and reduce poverty
through structural reforms in order
to foster a sense of community and
enable citizens to exercise their
rights and fulfill their obligations.

institutions responsible for value
formation so that they can
inculcate, rather than
indoctrinate democratic
citizenship values.

* Incorporate cross-cultural activities


in public and private sector programs
including those of schools, churches,
NGO’s, to recognize ethnolinguistic
and culture diversity in the country
and encourage the sharing of
experiences.

languages in all transactions to
enable the articulation of
citizenship and democratic
views and values.

informal mechanisms that
open space for the exercise of

Membership in a political
society. Citizenship denotes a
reciprocal allegiance
between the member to the

vice versa.

the list of those who are
considered Filipino
citizens.
