scenario
Design Splitting Scenario
• Type of FDT use ; FDT 48 Ports capacity (with 5 splicing & termination
unit, 5 slots for Splitter) connects maximum 40 FATs (assumption 1 FAT
contain 1 splitter).
• FAT aerial capacity is 16 ports contains of 2 slot splitter 1:8; One FAT
covers maximum of 16 HP.
• FAT underground capacity is 16 ports contains of 2 slot splitter 1:8; one
FAT cover max 16 HP.
• One distribution cable distributes 2 core to each FAT and splice 100%
(1 splitter = 1 core);
• For one FDT , feeder cable distribute “x” core depend to actual
needed/HP; (FDT 48 need maximum 5 core feeder). Feeder splice
provide 100% for main core based on cable capacity and sub feeder
based on number of core required.
• For feeder section, there are 4 types for cable use: 288/144/96/48
cores,we propose 288& / 144 cores cable for main route and other
type propose to use for sub-feeder.
• ……(continue)

scenario Design using cascading splitting scenario :

Design Splitting Scenario
• For distribution section using 24/36 cores, optional 12/48 cores
• 2 cores everyone tube in distribution give for spare
maintenance and monitor link purpose; In Main Feeder,
allocated core for input FDT will be two time from total splitter
1:8 and will be allocate to each FDT (not each cluster) as
monitoring and spare (applied in new feeder line).
• 1:8 splitter will provide 50% from full capacity HP coverage, and
1:8 splitter will be provide 1 Pcs each FAT and handover to
operation team after ATP with customer done.
Design scenario - DWG

Design Drawing Cluster Splicing Sketch

• For each FAT, Splicing will be 50% from FAT capacity; means 1 core max per FAT will be splice (for UG scenario, splice max 1
core)
• 2 cores everyone tube in distribution give for spare maintenance and monitor link purpose; and will termination on FDT.
• Means only core (1- 10), (13-22), etc, will be use for distribution into FAT, others will terminate in FDT only and remarks as
spare.
• 1:8 splitter will provide 50% from full capacity HP coverage, and 1:8 splitter will be provide 1 Pcs each FAT and handover to
operation team after ATP with customer done.

FAT Pole (Capacity 16) - DWG

• Despite FAT capacity are 16HP,

coverage on design maximum is 16 HP

• Every FAT will provide 1 unit splitter 1:8

and 2 cores for line connecting.

• Each FAT provide 15m slack cable and

7.5m on last FAT.

Cable Testing - ODF to FDT/FAT (OTDR) OTDR Testing Requirements:
- DWG

FDT/FAT • Testing Parameter using wavelength

ODF/FDT
1310nm and 1550nm.

• Bidirectional test (A-B, B-A) are mandatory

in feeder/sub feeder section.

• Unidirectional test (A-B) perform in

distribution/inside cluster section.

• Measurement in distribution section should

be as follows:
 In FDT : without connect to splitter 1:8
 In FAT : without connect to splitter 1:8
• Print out OTDR result and make summary
also.
Cable Testing - End to End Test (OPM) - DWG

Total Loss (dB) : n*(Connector Loss) + m*(Splicing Loss) + 1st Stage Splitter Loss + 2nd Stage Splitter Loss + Pre Connector Loss/Drop core +
Cable Loss

OPM Testing Requirements:

• Testing Parameter using wavelength 1490nm with OLT output as source.

• Unidirectional test (A-B) perform in feeder/sub feeder and cluster section

• Measurement in distribution section should be as follows:

 In FDT : Before splitter 1:8 and after splitter 1:8
 In FAT : Before splitter 1:8 and after splitter 1:8
• Record and make summary of OPM result
