- s suffix
The morpheme -s of the 3rd person singular (e.g. he works),
of the noun plural (e.g. books), of the possessive form (e.g.
John’s) and the contraction of ‘is’ or ‘has’ (he’s) is pronounced
in 3 different ways
depending on the sound that preceds it:
