RHYME
When the sounds at the ends of
lines sound alike but it does not
literally mean that the rhyming
words are also spelled alike.
It is the sound that matters.
For the moon never beams, without
EXAMPLE:
bringing me dreams
of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but i feel the
bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down
by the side
Of my darling-my darling-my life and
my bride

may;
Old time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles
today
Tomorrow will be dying.

poems in which sounds, words

rhythym.
For the moon never beams, without
EXAMPLE: bringing me dreams
of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but i feel the
bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down
by the side
Of my darling-my darling-my life
and my bride
RHYME
SCHEME
Pattern established by the
arrangement of rhymes in a
stanza or poem which is
generally described using letters
of the alphabet to denote the
recurrence of rhyming lines
EXAMPLE:
The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he’s a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he’s to setting.

That age is best which is the first,

When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.
EXAMPLE:
I will look at cliffs and clouds
With quiet eyes,
Watch the wind bow down the grass, And
the grass rise.

And when lights begin to show

Up from the town,
I will mark which must be mine
And then start down!
