Race and Ethnicity

• Race to the majority could be a mixture of


physical, behavioral and cultural attributes.

• Is usually perceived as something that


inherent in our biology and so inherited
across generations.
• as a reality, it is a group of
people with inherited physical
characteristics that distinguish
it from another group.
• some of there characteristics
are: skin and hair.
Ethnicity

• is a socially constructed category


composed of people who identify each
other shared nationality or cultural
traditions.
• Ethnicity means groups, like Irish, Fijian,
or Sioux, etc,. that share a standard
identify-based ancestry, language, or
culture.
• Identification is based on the common
ancestry and cultural heritage.
• Behavior, traditions, personality, traits and
others, that are not practiced mostly by the
majority or very different from other, most
likely are categorized as inferior.
• There are reasons that some ethnic
groups experience discrimination.
• The following are what causes racial and
ethnic discrimination:

Biological Inferiority
- traits that are taken from parents can
create biological inferiority.
Black and other skin colors except for white
are considered inferior by thr society.
