History of Arabic Music
Arabic music has been known to exist in preIslamic period between
the 5th and 7th centuries in the form of oral poetry accompanied by a drum
or oud respecting the poetic meter. Songs were simple using only one
maqam or melody.
Arabic music (Arabic: ة###يقى العربي###الموس, romanized: al-mūsīqā al-
ʿarabīyyah) is the music of the Arab world with all its diverse music styles
and genres. Arabic countries have many rich and varied styles of music and
also many linguistic dialects, with each country and region having their own
traditional music.

the music of all the peoples that make up the Arab world today.
