Midsegment of a Triangle

 The midsegment of a triangle is a line connecting the midpoints between two sides of a
triangle.
 The Triangle Midsegment Theorem, or midsegment theorem, states that the
midsegment between any two sides of a triangle is parallel to and half the length of the
third side.
Angle Bisectors of Triangles

 A perpendicular bisector of a side of a triangle is a line, segment, or ray that

passes through the midpoint of the side and is perpendicular to that side.
MEDIANS

 A medians is a segment whose endpoints are a vertex of a triangle and the

midpoint of the side opposite the vertex. Every triangle has three medians.
 The medians of a triangle also intersect at a common point. The point of
concurrency for the medians of a triangle is called a centroid.
 The centroid divides each median into two parts, which are always in the ratio 2:1.
 Points S, T, and U are the midpoints of DE, EF, and DF, respectively. Find x, y,
and z.
 An altitude of a triangle is a segment from a vertex to the line containing the
opposite side and perpendicular to the line containing that side. Every
triangle has three altitudes. The intersection point of the altitudes of a
triangle is called the orthocenter.
The vertices of triangle JKL are J(1, 3), K(2, -1), and L(-1, 0). Find
the coordinates of the orthocenter of triangle JKL.
