• Mental health is a state of

people to cope with the stresses
of life meaning it is your
emotional psychological and
social wellbeing.
• This is a general phrase that
covers a variety of ailments,
including anxiety, depression,
and others. These have a big
impact on a person's emotions,
thoughts, behaviours, and
interactions with other people.
WHY IS MENTAL HEALTH A PRIORITY
AREA FOR AUSTRALIA
• Mental health is the basis of the overall health of a human
• According to AIHW,1 in 5 people aged 16-85 have a mental health illness
meaning Australia should be prioritizing mental health because it is such
a large amount of people affected (4-5 million people)
• Considering that there are multiple mental illnesses like Anxiety,
Depression, PTSD, eating disorder and schizophrenia Australia needs to
know how to help its citizens

estimated to have a severe mental
illness, of which 500,000 people
have episodic mental illness and
300,000 have persistent mental

• Mental health can cause life
changing factors for example if you
have an anxiety disorder you are
most likely to be the quiet type and
find it hard to socialize

• Anxiety is when
unjustified worry
persists and may not
have a clear cause. If
you have anxiety, it
could be difficult for you
to control your feelings.
• Anxiety makes it
challenging to function
in daily life.

WAYS TO COPE WITH ANXIETY
AND THE SYMPTOMS OF IT
• Mindfulness, relaxation techniques, increasing self-esteem, therapy,
medication, and support groups are some methods for treating anxiety
disorders.
• Having trouble focusing or thinking about anything but present-day
worry, not being able to sleep, feeling tense, restless, a feeling of
impending peril, terror or disaster, Having a faster heartbeat, breaths
quickly are all symptoms of anxiety.
• The chances of women to experience anxiety is approximately double the
amount of men.
