To shed light on the important relationship between video


games and psychological functioning against the player

According to Esposito (2005), he defined that "a game


which we play thanks to an audio-visual apparatus and
which can be based on a story"

Video games are a popular leisure activity nowadays


whether among children, teenagers and adults.

habits with gamers' psychological functioning
 Distraction-motivated gaming was associated
with higher symptom ratings, lower self-esteem
and stronger negative emotions
 Relationship between preferred game genre
and functional psychology
 Can prevent the players who spend hours in
front of a computer screen every day from:

1. Developing and practicing functional coping


strategies

2. Finding friends and support in the social


environment

3. Showing proper school achievement, factors that


are potentially harmful to the person.

LOGY
Quantitative:

• Questionnaire method
• Distributed links online (online forums and also popular
online game sites)
• Uses a Likert scale which is between 1 to 5 and it also
depends on the question

The study was conducted on
people living in Germany

A total of 2891 respondents were


involved in answering the questions
(2421 men and 470 were women)

As many as 95% which is a total of 2734 people


confirmed to use video gaming and most of
them consist of 2377 men and 357 women and
they are between 13-65 years old

Respondents have to answer the questions


found in both sections (Video Gaming and
Psychological Functioning)

In conclusion, the study conducted on "The Association
Between Video Gaming and Psychological Functioning"
can help in increasing knowledge about games where this
study has revealed the specific difference between video
gaming and the measurement of psychological
functioning. Players who play video games have made a
choice about their game genre which helps them in
deepening their understanding of between video gaming
and psychological health.
