INTRODUCTION
The manufacturing sector in Sriperumbudur has witnessed significant growth, but
concerns about the quality of work-life among employees have emerged. Work-life quality
encompasses job satisfaction, work-life balance, career advancement opportunities, and
overall well-being.

Evaluating and enhancing work-life quality is crucial for employee morale, retention, and
organizational performance. This research aims to assess the work-life quality in
Sriperumbudur's manufacturing industries, identify challenges, and recommend strategies
to foster a supportive and fulfilling work environment, benefiting both employees and

REVIEW OF LITERATURE

• Kasthuri and Rajkumar (2011) noted that female workers in India suffered the most from work-family imbalance,
with legal provisions lacking for paternity leave, exacerbating the issue.

• Rani and Selvarani (2011) observed a positive correlation between employees' tasks at work and satisfaction, with
work-life balance acting as a mediator in Indian IT companies.

• Rastogi and Bansal (2012) highlighted the significant role of support, especially spousal support for childcare and
domestic chores, in helping married Indian women manage work-life conflicts and focus on their careers.

• Morrison and Thurnell (2012) reported that flexible work hours, allowing employees to start and end work at flexible
times, were the most preferred flexible work arrangement among male employees in a construction company.
