MANIPULATION
Manipulatives Media are tools that are used to aid in hands-on learning. They
can be physical objects or computer programs which learners can manipulate
in order to grasp an idea, and gain understanding or mastery of given
concepts.

Media manipulation is a series of related techniques in which partisans create

an image or argument that favors their particular interests.
Manipulation is when a person uses controlling and harmful behaviors to
avoid responsibility, conceal their true intentions, or cause doubt and
confusion. Manipulation tactics, such as gaslighting, lying, blaming,
criticizing, and shaming, can be incredibly damaging to a person's
psychological well-being.

Filter Bubble
A filter bubble is an algorithmic bias that skews or limits
the information an individual user sees on the internet.
The bias is caused by the weighted algorithms that search
engines, social media sites and marketers use to
personalize user experience (UX).

The term “filter bubble” refers to the results of the

algorithms that dictate what we encounter online.
According to Eli Pariser, those algorithms create “a
unique universe of information for each of us … which
fundamentally alters the way we encounter ideas and
information.”
Echo Chamber
In news media and social media, an echo chamber is an environment or
ecosystem in which participants encounter beliefs that amplify or
reinforce their preexisting beliefs by communication and repetition
inside a closed system and insulated from rebuttal.

An echo chamber is an environment where a person only encounters

information or opinions that reflect and reinforce their own. Echo
chambers can create misinformation and distort a person's perspective
so they have difficulty considering opposing viewpoints and discussing
complicated topics.
