Baking tools are utensils used during
the baking process. Baking tools help the
baking process by providing the baker with a
means to measure ingredients, mix them, bake
them in the oven, and decorate the finished
bakery products.
Tools and equipment are often used
interchangeably, but there is a difference
between the two.
Tools are typically small and hand-held, while
Equipment is larger and usually powered by
an engine. Tools are used for specific tasks
Measuring Tools

amount of ingredients written in a recipe.

These tools are vital for you to have since
they make the process of baking more efficient and
easier.

1. Metal spatula - also


known as pallet knife; used
to loosen cookies from the
pan and level the flour.
2. Rolling pin - it rolls
out, flattens or thins
the dough or paste. It
may be made of
wood, metal, marble
or synthetic materials.

Pastry Brush
- Used to brush butter or egg wash onto dough
prior to cooking, a pastry brush helps to give baked
goods their golden-brown exterior.
4. Parchment paper - it
is grease- resistant,
non-stick, heatproof,
quick release coated
paper. It is used as
lining baking pans and
making piping cones for
décor work.
5. Pastry mat
- made of highly-
quality, food-grade
silicone and fiber
glass. The markings
allow for accurate
sizing and reduce the
risk of over-
processing the dough
6. Wire Cooling Racks -
they have feet that raise
them above the counter
so that moisture does

specific pans.

equipment?

Using the correct utensils for cooking ensures


that you get the right taste for the dishes you
are preparing. Understand that different dishes
usually have different tastes. When you use the
correct utensils, you will find it easier to
measure the ingredients needed.
