SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS

Stress is a common experience among students, including those in the HUMSS 12 strand.
Therefore, understanding the factors and coping mechanisms that influence students’ stress
level can provide insights for educators and policymakers to create effective techniques.
There are several factors that can contribute to stress levels, such as academic pressure,
social relationships, and personal expectations.

Stress can be good stress that is explained as 'Eustress".. Eustress can be defined as "good
stress, caused by a positive response to a desired stressor, such as a wedding or a new job"
(Truxillo et al. (2016, pg. 441).

Based from the study of (Rehman et al 2021), stress of any event that threatens our immune
function can be defined as a state of emotional and physical distress. At the same time,
anxiety is called fear of uncertainness, which is the normal response of the body to
circumstances.

For a clearer and better understanding of the study, the

following terms were defined operationally and conceptually
while others were taken from other sources.

• Coping Mechanism • HUMSS

• Factors • Level of Stress

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

The study aims to determine the stress level, factors contributing and coping
mechanisms to manage stress of HUMSS 12 students in DFLOMNHS .

Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions;

1. What is the factors contributing to the stress among Humss 12 students?

2.What are the level of stress among Humss 12 students?

3. What are the coping mechanisms applied by Humss 12 students in dealing with
stress?
STATEMENT OF HYPOTHESIS

There is no significant relationship

between level of stress and the
factors of stress.
