and 14 functional areas of the SHRM

• Passing score is 200, Results are
communicated immediately.
• Recertify every 3 years from the date you
become certified.
• Recertify with Professional Development
Credits (PDCs) or by re-taking the exam.

as developing HR policies and strategies, overseeing the execution of
integrated HR operations, or directing an entire HR enterprise, should take
the SHRM-SCP exam

4 hours total time | 3 hours 40 minutes for exam + 20 minutes for pre/post exam activities

 Eligibility Requirements

The SHRM-CP is for individuals who are new to HR or perform HR

related duties as part of many roles within the company. The SHRM-CP
does not have any specific eligibility requirements, but it is
recommended to have a working knowledge of HR principles prior to
testing.

The SHRM-SCP is for individuals who have been in the HR industry for
3 or more years, or who are looking to expand their strategic HR skills.
This certification does require applicants dedicate least 1,000 hours per
year to strategic level HR-related work.
