FORMS OF SOCIETY

INTRODUCTION
The development of societies throughout
history shows the development of humankind
in response to changing surroundings and
historical developments.
INTRODUCTION
According to William Ogburn, society changes
because of one of three things: discoveries,
inventions and cultural diffusion (the spread of
the one culture to different society)
DISCOVERIES
Discoveries occur when something
completely new is observed or
found. A famous example of this is
the discovery of the America,
which led to cultural and social
changes across the globe.
INVENTIONS
Inventions are when something new is
created such as a smartphone.
Smartphones combine computer
software technology with telephone
technology and yet they have
dramatically shaped our cultural norms
and societal boundaries.
CULTURAL DIFFUSION
If people migrate from one
society to another, they will
introduce their own culture to a
new group of people thereby
initiating social changes there.

which society, you want to
live? Why?
(Kung mabubuhay kang

gustong mabuhay? Bakit?)
HOW DOES SOCIETY INFLUENCE OUR

Our culture shapes the way we work
and play, and it makes a difference in
how we view ourselves and others. It

right and wrong. This is how the
society we live in influences our
choices.
INTRODUCTION
Society creates stereotypes
about race, religion, class,
gender, sexual orientation.
Society then expects parents to
keep with tradition and mold their
children according to the values
acceptable to the society they
belong.
