You are relocating
to Abu Dhabi!
• Abu Dhabi is much calmer and more family-friendly than its
famous neighbour (Dubai).
• There are a lot of popular communities to choose from on an
island-style city.
• Tawtheeq is the system that protects the rights of both the
landlord and the tenant.
• ADDC (Abu Dhabi Distribution Company) deposit, is a refundable
AED 1,000 deposit payable by the tenant with the first bill.
• Housing fee to the Abu Dhabi Municipality is a standard 5% of
annual rent, broken down into payments over the 12-month
contract.
• Rent is payable annually/biannually/quarterly. You can now use
the Direct Debit System (UAEDDS) of the UAE Central Bank to
make rent payments. Other methods include cheques, bank
transfers and online payment platforms.
• If you use an agency, an upfront rental fee deposit of 3-5% will be
payable by the tenant, plus 5% refundable security deposit
(standard of all rental contracts).
