Heart Diseases The major risk factors of hypertension in the Chinese population include a high
sodium and low potassium diet, obesity and overweight, high alcohol consumption,
dyslipidemia, tobacco smoking, physical inactivity and sedentary life style. Diabetes,
poorer dietary pattern, high lipoprotein, high cholesterol.

Chronic Pulmonary Diseases Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is becoming a leading cause of
morbidity and mortality in China, with tobacco smoking, biomass, fuel use and genetic
susceptibility being the major risk factors.

Lungs Cancer Tobacco use is one of the major threats to public health, especially in China, indoor air
pollution, outdoor air pollution, occupational hazards, other risk factors of lung cancer,
high fasting plasma glucose, radiation, family history of lung cancer, poor diet
excessive amounts of alcohol consumption
