Highlights

 SAP Application Interface Framework (AIF) is a framework for interface implementation and
error monitoring with focus on business users

 It provides selection screen based on different parameters (interface name, document

number, error message number, replication date, etc.)

 Central Finance uses AIF to define 3 main interfaces for Cost Object replication, FI/CO
posting replication and CO internal posting replication

AIF Monitoring Transactions

AIF has two main Business User transactions for message visibility:
- The Interface Monitor is a role based overview transaction
- The user sees everything in an overview without need to select
- The shown statistics are precalulated and already filtered by authorization
- Provides quick overview and insight
- The Monitoring and Error Handling
- Allows user to search by important fields (can be customized)
- Search results also filtered by authorization

AIF Monitoring Transactions – Message Summary

The „Message Summary“ can be called from Interface Monitor and provides an overview about which
different messages (errors, warnings, success) have been encountered.
This allows the user to prioritize work, start mass handling of errors, mass restart, mass cancel, etc.
User can navigate to all messages having same error by just clicking error

based on message status
• Users can click on calendar
(click on month, week, day) to
show only selected time frame
or a time range can be entered

New Error Handling Tool (AIF) for Central Finance Scenarios

• AIF shows multiple errors,

not just the main message.
• Field names can be
shown with own texts.
• Messages can be rephrased if a
message text is not meaningful.
• Messages can be assigned to
SAP-transaction codes (e.g.
IMG activities) which allows
users to navigate to the place
where the error can be solved.
• Emergency correction mode
(requires special authorization)
allows changing any posting
data field by entering the correct
value
