• To assess the level of knowledge of general population regarding
organ donation. • To find out the association between the level of knowledge of general population towards organ donation with selected demographic variables. Review Of Literature: • 1. A study done in Ernakulam district among 100 subjects, 55% had average knowledge, 38% had good knowledge and only 7% had poor knowledge regarding organ donation. There was a significant association between the level of knowledge of general population regarding organ donation with selected demographic variables.(Anu Jacob kachappillil et al., 2020) • 2.A descriptive cross sectional study done among 100 participants in Thrissur, kerala state. Overall 97% of study participants knew something about organ donation and 97% of people expressed support for organ donation. This study highlights the significance of increasing public knowledge to remove barriers and disbeliefs that keep people from volunteering for organ donation.(Neetu Jose, Jayesh K Joseph, Sheeja Sebastian et al., 2020) Review Of Literature: • 3. A cross sectional study was done in a population of 225 patients attending the OPD of a primary health center Kannur district of north Kerala . Study found that 69.3% had positive attitude towards organ donation, amongst which 16.1% had expressed strong motivation to donate irrespective of the circumstances. • 64% considered the possibility of misappropriation of their donated organs. 94% of respondents would authorize consent of donation of a diseased person organ to either his/her family or spouse. • Study has proved that even though most of the people aware about organ donation, the willingness to donate organs is low. Socio demographic, emotional factors & laws to ensure appropriate use of donated organs influence the public willingness to donate.(Nisanth Prabhakaran, Nishitha et al.,2021) Study methods: • Study design: A community based cross sectional study. • Study period: The study will be conducted between June to September. • Study setting: Study will be conducted in peerancheru, Hyderabad, Telangana. • Participants: Adults aged more than 18 years old. • Inclusion criteria: Those who are willing to participate in study. • Exclusion criteria: Those who rejected to participate in study. • Who are not available during data collection and people aged below 18 years. • Sample size: 100 members. • Sampling method: simple random sampling.
