THE SURFACE OF EARTH. RAIN PROVIDES
US WITH WATER TO DRINK. SOME OF THE
RAIN WATER SEEPS INTO THE GROUND
AND IS CALLED GROUND WATER. RAIN IS
WHAT HARVESTS OUR CROPS . RAIN IS
ALSO THE SOURCE OF WATER IN RIVERS ,
OCEANS AND ALL WATER BODIES

• Rain water is the water fallen as rain. Rain water is a
mixed electrolyte that contains varying amounts of
major and minor ions.Sodium , Potassium ,
Magnesium , Calcium chloride , bicarbonate and
sulphate ions are the major constituents , together with
ammonia , nitrate , nitrite, nitrogen and other
nitrogenous compounds . Minor constituents are iodine
, bromine , boron , iron , silica , alumina . Dust
particles are added locally. The sources of these
constituents are the oceans , fresh water and saline
lakes , landmasses , vegetation , manmade industries
