What is Language
Proficiency??
Language proficiency relates to a person's ability
produce and understand a particular language.
Why is it important?
A requirement at college/university: Many colleges and
universities require the English Language Proficiency
test as a part of their admission process. Since the
classes, textbooks, etc. will be in English; they will be
used to assess students’ ability to converse and study in
English.
Tips to Ace your Language
Proficiency Test
• Scribble down a new word every day.
• Challenge your ears by listening to podcasts.
• Watch TV shows or films (without subtitles).
• Read English-language newspapers and
magazines.

Reading comprehension is the ability to
read text, process it and understand its
meaning.
