WHAT IS
?
Trends are general patterns that change and develop, moving
up, down, and diagonally. They can appear in pop culture,
entertainment, the market, and politics. A trend can be
serious or fun and can last for an undetermined amount of
time. They're constantly wavering and evolving. As an
example, when something is trending on social media, it's the
subject of many posts. Meanwhile, in sales, a trend can
influence the monthly change in sales volume for a small
business.
The concept of trend started in the 14th
century when the upper echelons of
society demonstrated their social position
and wealth also by how often they could
change their looks. The characteristic of
fashion trends is that they rise and fall.
HOW IS A TREND CREATED?
Culture plays an important role in the creation of
trends. It can be influenced by everything from art
and music to politics and social movements. For
example, the rise of streetwear as a fashion trend
can be attributed to the influence of hip-hop and
street culture.
 WHO CREATES
TREND
Innovators are the ones responsible for bringing an
idea to life. Early adopters, who have significant
influence, then drive trends towards becoming a reality.
The early majority are fans or followers of early
adopters and constitute a big piece of the masses. The
late majority don't easily jump onto a trend.
 Why do people create trends?
People want to fit into society and have the coolest or most
desired product out there which influences the spread of
new items becoming popular. Social trends are a smart way
for companies to make more money off the products they
push onto younger people
What is the purpose of a trend?
Trends are an opportunity to do something
new not just from an individual standpoint, but
on a macro level. Trends allow us to shift
cultural currents and ultimately depict an
underlying intuition.

 How do we know if
something is a trend?
We can know it’s a trend when the hip or
popular at a certain point in time. While a
trend usually refers to a certain style in
fashion or entertainment
