INTRODUCTION
• The smart energy management system is the integration of electrical and information
infrastructures.

• Here to improve the power communication between generation, transmission,

distribution and consumer we required advanced information technology based Smart
Energy Monitoring System (SEMS).

• Hence the advanced information technology needed fast and reliable communication
protocol i.e. Zigbee, Internet of Things (IoT) and GSM based Cloud Computing. These
are the communication devices which are used to develop the Smart Energy Monitoring
System (SEMS).
• In future using smart energy monitoring system easily we
can obtain the closed loop communication for developing smart energy
management system.
• This paper presents the development of Smart Energy Monitoring system using Cloud
Computing.
• The cloud computing techniques is helpful to monitor the data as well as store the data
in cloud server using two way communication protocol.
Literature Review
 Dynamic pricing implementation can be used to address energy management. Xuan Li

and Lo proposed two smart grid related issues: (a) peak demand and (b) dynamic

pricing. Requests from customers, which are to be executed, based on the priority,

available resources, and other applicable constraints, are scheduled with the

integration of cloud.

 Cloud-based services are used for communication and management schemes in the

smart grid while providing the facility of power monitoring and early-warning system

as well. In such a scenario, the real-time support is provided by using enterprise

service bus (ESB) and serviceoriented architecture (SOA).

OBJECTIVES
There are various objectives to be met. Some of them involves in determining the
following below.

 Energy Consumption per unit time.

 Determining the load. I.e. 1-phase/3-phase.
 Interfacing Parameters such as voltage and current with IOT.
 Learn Coding, Interfacing and Teamwork to perform task.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
Here in this project, we are going to make a system in which we are trying to make
system of energy metering without human interreference. That is we make arrangement
such that all data and unit consumed will be transferred to website where it get accesses
by control system and end user to.

The system consist of one CT and PT . PT converts 230 ac mains into 12 volt ac
since it is step down. Further supply is fed to circuit through half wave bridge rectifier
which convert its into dc. Which is 1-5 volt which is calibrated in a such a way that LCD
display showing 230volt on it.
CT(current sensor) is connected in series and PT in parallel to load. Actual current
passing through it is display on LCD. Using formulae we calculate power and and send it
to controller. Controller through Node Mcu ESP8266 module all data is transferred to
cloud. Which we can seen on think speak website. In the form of values or in the form of
graph.
Components
 1. Digital Energy Meter :
The energy meter is an electrical measuring
device, which is used to record Electrical Energy Consumed over a specified
period of time in terms of units.
2.Sensors
 A. Voltage Sensor(ZMPD101B):
A voltage sensor is a device that measures the
voltage of an electrical circuit. Voltage sensors are used in many applications,
including monitoring and controlling equipment and machinery.
 B.Current Sensor:
A current sensor detects and measures the electric current
passing through a conductor. It turns the current into a quantifiable output, such as a
voltage, current, or digital signal, which may be utilised in a variety of applications
for monitoring, control, or protection.
 ESP8266(Wifi Microchip):
A wireless chipset is a piece of internal hardware
designed to allow a device to communicate with another wireless-enabled device.
This type of chipset can be found inside computers as well as a number of other
wireless products.
 16X2 LCD Display:
A 16×2 LCD display is a liquid crystal display that can show 16 characters
in each of its two rows, providing a total of 32 characters of information. It's
commonly used to display alphanumeric information in various electronic devices.
 ATMega 328 Pup Controller :
ATmega328 is commonly used in many projects
and autonomous systems where a simple, low-powered, low-cost micro-
controller is needed. Perhaps the most common implementation of this chip is on
the popular Arduino development platform, namely the Arduino Uno, Arduino
Pro Mini and Arduino Nano models.
POSSIBLE OUTCOME
1. Voltage can be calibrated and shown in lcd.
2. Current can be measured.
3. Both measured value exported to IOT for reference and there chart with respect to
time create over there.
4. Power also measured and shown in graph with respect to time.
5. On IOT platform customer and Electricity company both can supervise power
consumed without physically visited over there.
