RUBELLA

• It is an acute childhood infection.


• Caused by the rubella virus.
• It is usually a short infection lasts
for 3 days.

MODE OF TRANSMISSION
• Virus transmitted directly from person
to person by droplet infection.
INCUBATION PERIOD
• 2 to 3 weeks average 18 days .
CLINICAL FEATURES
• Sore throat
• Lymphadenopathy
• Rashes
COMPLICATION
• Arthralgia
• Thrombocytopenia
PREVENTION
• Rubella vaccine
MUMPS
• An acute infection caused by
Rubolavirus.

Myxovirus parotiditis.

Age (children of 5-9 yrs )

Cases occurs throughout the years
MODE OF TRANSMISSION
• Mainly droplet infection.
INCUBATION PERIOD
• 2 to 4 weeks
CLINICAL FEATURES
• Pain and swelling in parotid glands.
• Ear ache
• Fever

• VACCINE :
INFLUENZA
• Acute respiratory infection caused by
influenza virus.
• There are 3 types A,B and C.
