 1. MATERI GENETIK
Materi genetik adalah materi yang berperan
penting dalam pewarisan sifat. Setiap ciri atau
sifat yang dimiliki setiap orang adalah warisan
dari orang tua yang diwariskan melalui materi
genetik, baik berupa warna kulit, bentuk
rambut, atau bahkan beberapa jenis penyakit
tertentu. Molekul yang berperan dalam meteri
genetik adalah asam nukleat (DNA dan RNA).
 DNA ( DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC

ACID )
Adalah untaian yang sangat panjang
terletak di dalam inti sel, terdiri dari
subunit nukleotida yang berfungsi
menyimpan kode genetik. Pada
suatu sifat tertentu, DNA memiliki
gen yang memengaruhi sifat setiap
makhluk hidup.

Adalah bagian dari sel tubuh yang
memiliki banyak fungsi, salah
satunya adalah menyimpan
informasi genetik antara DNA dan
ribosom. RNA memiliki tiga jenis,
yaitu messenger RNA(Mrna), RNA
transfer(tRNA), dan RNA
ribosom(Rrna)

2. STRUKTUR DNA DAN RNA
● Struktur DNA dan RNA tidak jauh beda. Struktur
DNA terdiri dari dua rantai polinukleotida
berbentuk heliks ganda yang sangat panjang dan
melilit mengelilingi sumbu yang sama. Sedangkan
struktur RNA merupakan polimer yang tersusun
dari sejumlah nukleotida yang memiliki satu gugus
fosfat, satu gugus pentose, dan satu gugus basa

● Dalam peranan sifat dikenal istilah sifat Dominan dan sifat Resesif.
● Yang di maksud dengan sifat Dominan adalah karakter yang
mampu mengalahkan atau menutupi karakter yang lain, sedangkan
karakteristik yang kalah di sebut Resesif.
● Gen yang bertanggung jawab atas sifat suatu organisme yaitu gen
Dominan (Huruf Kapital) dan gen Resesif (Huruf Biasa).
● Variasi atau bentuk dalam suatu gen di sebut ALELA.
● Susunan Kromosom di bagi menjadi dua, yaitu Diploid dan Haploid.
● Penulisan kromosom pada laki-laki dilambangkan dengan XY.
Penulisan kromosom pada Perempuan dilambangkan dengan XX.
