Introduction
Introduction
 The exponential growth of Information Technology in Supply Chain Management is playing critical role in optimizing decisions of the supply chain
network flow for achieving organizational competitiveness, improving service level, reducing supply chain costs and risks.

 IT in Supply Chain Management is required to achieve integration and effective information sharing across and beyond the organizations.

 The organizations are moving towards the supply chain digital transformation with help of rapid changes in technology and IT applications.
Understanding the Supply Chain IT
Framework
 Today Companies must consider information technologies not only as a tool to accelerate the speed and productivity of business functions, but also
as a key driver that enhances the opportunity for supply chains to continually activate new relationships and achieve competitive advantage.

 Internally, information technologies enable companies to develop databases and implement applications that provide the efficient management of
transactions and the timely collection, analysis, and generation of information about customers, processes, products, services, and markets
necessary for effective decision making.

 Externally, information technologies enable supply chain strategists to architect channel networks that are collaborative, fast flow, and Web-enabled.

 The goal is to present customers anywhere in the supply chain with a single, integrated response to their wants and needs by creating unique value-
chain networks.
Understanding the Supply Chain IT
Framework
Modern supply chain management relies on a framework for information exchange between many stakeholders, including producers, suppliers,
distributors, and retailers. This framework is known as the supply chain information technology framework. It is important that everyone has access to
accurate, current data for decision-making and process improvement through the use of this framework, which is required to streamline operations.
