URETHRA
KIDNEYS
The main organs of the urinary system.
Removes waste substances from the blood and
filters the blood to stay clean. Each kidney has
thousands of filters called nephrons.
URETERS
Tubes that connect the urine from the
kidney into the bladder, transferring the
urine by using the smooth muscles.
URINARY BLADDER
A temporary storage for the urine or toxic waste
to be stored until excreted. For most people, it
is able to hold 500-700mL of urine.
URETHRA

and urine. It has a sphincter muscle to
help regulate the flow of urine.
UROLOGIC DISEASES

Urinary retention is also able to cause problems
with bladder control.
Avoided by; immediately releasing urine when
the urge rises
HEMATURIA
A disease where there is a presence of blood in the urine.
This is caused by inflammation of the bladder, injury to any
of the organs part of the urinary system, or kidney or
bladder stones.
Avoided by; constantly drinking water and avoiding food
with excessive salt
