KITCHEN PLANS

LEARNING OUTCOME;
 Describe a kitchen
 Explain kitchen plans and types
THE KITCHEN
 Using an appropriate thinking frame, write out ways you can describe a
kitchen.

I would say a kitchen is a functional room in a house where food is

prepared.

However, every kitchen has a plan.

What are kitchen plans?
KITCHEN PLANS
The kitchen is a working room and, in order for it to be easy
and efficient to work in, it must be well planned.
The most efficient kitchen layouts are based on a U, L or
Parallel lines plan.
Basically, what this means is the shape a kitchen takes when
equipment are arranged in the kitchen.

Think about your kitchen, does it have a unique shape?

Do you have an island? What is an island used for?
The main purpose of having a kitchen plan is to save human energy and be more efficient.
