Concept of Academic Probation
Calculating GPA
to indicate the poor performance of the student in the last academic semester(s).
Students are placed under academic probation if
credit hours (4 subjects) in a normal semester, or 6 credit hours (2 subjects) in a summer semester. (Article 51, M.D 339/2007).
The student has to achieve a cumulative GPA of
2.0 or more to clear probation (first, second, and third) assuming that his semester GPA is not below 2.0 in the following semester after being placed under probation. (Article 52).

The student has to repeat failed subjects or
two consecutive semesters. Failing to obtain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 at the end of the following semester after having already been under academic probation will cause the dismissal of the student. (Articles 52 & 72). Upon College Council approval, a student is allowed to study in third academic probation. (Article 52, M.D 17/2012).

Total sum of Grade Points times Course Credits divided by sum of Total Course Credit Hours

(N): Student did not obtain grade because of
substitution of grades (NC): Course not accredited in study program, thus not calculated in the GPA. (W): Student withdrew from the course (TR): Course transferred from another educational institution. Credit hours have been added up, but not the cumulative grade

student studied during a single semester. It is calculated the same way a Cumulative GPA is calculated. (Article 64) A Cumulative GPA is the average of the subjects the student studied up to date. (Article 65). Cumulative GPA is calculated for each level separately. (Article 66).

old mark is replaced by the new mark whether the old mark is greater or less than the new mark. (Article 53). When a studying a subject for the third time or more, the second attempt and any attempt that follows is calculated in the GPA. The student can repeat a subject where he/she obtained a passing grade of (C) or less with a maximum of three subjects (9 credit hours) per level. (Article 53, M.D 17/2012).

Important Notes
The Student can not graduate with a GPA of less
than 2.0 Students who started Post Foundation on Jan 2011 and afterwards will move to Higher Diploma based on the GPA of Diploma Years (1 & 2). Students who started Post Foundation before Jan 2011 will move to Higher Diploma based on the GPA of Diploma Year 2 only.
