Purpose

Plan & Create Environment-friendly Physical & Social Urban Settlements To plan and create environment-friendly, model urban Infrastructure settlements with full fledged physical and social infrastructure to meet residential, commercial and industrial need of population at present and in the years to come.

Objectives

To prevent population influx into Mumbai diverting it to the new town by providing them another urban alternative which will allure the citizens wishing to relocate to a city with peace and comfort.

Objectives
Absorb immigrants from other states and promote efficient and rational distribution of industries by preparing a ground for them who otherwise could have opted, for Mumbai.

Planning Department
Preparation of Development Plan, its approval and modification from time to time Planning process involves identification of various projects for fulfilling its objectives, evaluation and preparation of nodal and sector plans, detailing of neighborhood and cluster plans

The Architecture Section prepares the design and detail drawings for certain public buildings and the various housing scheme projects taken up for different income groups in different parts of the city.

Provides an Integrated Transportation System consisting of Roads, Railways, Water transport & Airport. Planning and Design of City Scale Transportation Infrastructures
Transportation Network Plan, Railway System, Urban Expressway Roads, Water Transportation, Navi Mumbai International Airport, Bus Depots & Truck Terminals, Flyovers, Interchanges etc.

Inter-utility Services
Planning of service corridors for various utility services at City Scale Nodal levels Scrutiny of proposals from various agencies such as MSEB, GAIL, MTNL, MJP, HPCL, IOCL, ONGC etc. Issue of permissions & collection of reinstatement charges from the agencies.

Coordination work
Coordination with authorities such as PWD, MOST, NHAI, Railways, AAI, Ministry of Civil Aviation, MBPT, MTNL, JNPT, MMRDA, MSRDC etc.

Disposal of plots for residential, commercial, Commercial-cum-residential & other uses as well as built up premises for commercial users and Housing Schemes.

Town Services Department


The Estate Department in CIDCO is mainly concerned with taking care of all the leases granted by the Corporation in respect of plots as well as built-up premises.
The files pertaining to plots allotted reach this department from the Marketing Managers after handing over the possession and execution of Agreement. Similarly, the files pertaining to apartments sold also reach this department from all the Marketing Managers after handing over the possession and execution of agreements. In respect of all the plots or premises allotted by the Social Services Officer and the Chief Health Officer such files reach the Estate Department after issue of allotment orders and recovery of the lease premium. Thereafter, Agreement to Lease are executed by the Estate Department.

Controller of Unauthorized Construction Department


The CUC Dept deals with action against unauthorized development/constructions in contravention of the provisions of the Maharashtra Regional & Town Planning Act 1966, especially Sections 52 to 55.

Law Department
To give legal opinion on the issues referred to him by the management/ heads of the departments.

Appointment of panel advocates to defend the court cases on behalf of the Corporation.
Preparation/approval of the written statements/affidavits to be filed in various court matters. Settlement of professional fees payable to the advocates. Co-ordination of the court cases with the advocates and the various departments of the Corporation.
