Miss Michelle Kemp was my maternity leave substitute in my First Grade classroom fromApril 16th, 2012 right through until the end of the year, June 21"1,2012. Michelle started out as a substitute in our building in September of 2007. From the onset of conversing with Michelle I was extremely impressed with her enthusiasm and professional attitude. Since then she has successfully completed 4 leaves in our building. I was lucky enough to work with Michelle as part of our first grade team in the beginning of this school year. lt was a wonderful experience for Michelle truly possesses the philosophy that what is good for the students is what must be done. she became a true member of our first grade team and did a great job collaborating with many other teachers and service providers. she was always very professional and took the initiative to learn as much as she could during her leave time. I too learned much from Michelle as she was excited and willing to share many new ideas with us. I was then very happy to hear that Michelle would be in for my maternity leave. She was very flexible and willing to meet with me beforehand to get a "heads-up" on what she would be teaching, and to find out where the kids were at. Michelle was able to create a learning environment that motivated and engaged the students in the learning process. She differentiated her instruction so that each student was being challenged yet enjoying her lessons at the same time. The children responded well to her approach and had a wonderful experience. Michelle is a wonderful teacher who has the confidence and team-minded approach that will help her to be very successful. Any school who hires Michelle will truly be fortunate to have such a funloving, enthusiastic, and hard working teacher working with their children.
