I have known April since September 2012 when she

successfully completed her Methods program in my classroom.
April successfully completed her Methods in a selfcontained, first grade classroom at Mt. Caesar Elementary School
from September to December 2012. Mt. Caesar School contains
classes of preschool through grade two. This school is located in
the rural town of Swanzey, N.H. and has an enrollment of
approximately 340 students.
Miss Labbe attended two full days a week for four months
in the classroom. She began by reading to the class and leading
the morning meetings and continued to add to her instructional
load with whole and small group lessons. She developed and
taught a unit on the Five Senses that engaged the students and
included common core standards. April also planned and taught
lessons using a Smart Board. Other non-teaching duties included
observing and assessing two specific students, playground
supervision, hall monitoring, and meetings and workshops
required of regular staff including being part of a Professional
Learning Community. She also observed Art, Music, Library, and
Physical Education classes.
Miss Labbe met her required responsibilities in a
professional manner. I found her to be open and inquisitive, have
a positive work ethic and willing to go the extra mile. She worked
cooperatively and collaboratively with multiple colleagues and
followed through with commitments. Her planned lessons
consisted of activities that were appropriate and engaging to the
young children and were aligned with the common core
standards.
I believe that April Labbe has demonstrated, during her
stay at Mt. Caesar, that she has the foundation to become an
excellent teacher and a great asset to any staff.
