To Whom It May Concern:

I am a first grade teacher at Fairbanks Road Elementary School and had the pleasure of working with
Allison Marciano during the first semester of the 2012 2013 school year. She participated in the first block of
her student teaching with my students and me. Allison did an excellent job in every area of student teaching
and my children, as well as their parents, loved her.

Allison demonstrated compassion, flexibility, good management skills and a desire to move all children
forward. She was always concerned about the total child the academic, as well as emotional and social well
being and worked with each child to try to bring out his/her best. Allison wanted to begin teaching right away,
so she was able to complete both an entire Math and Science Unit. Her lessons were well prepared, utilized
Common Core Standards and a variety of teaching and learning strategies. She motivated the first graders by
using technology and real-life examples for her lessons. Allison always let them know the purpose for learning
and used both informal and formal assessment to drive her teaching. By the end of her placement, she was
successful in teaching every subject area.

Allison became part of the first grade team and school community during her student teaching. She
easily adapted to any thing I suggested. She collaborated well; attending trainings and Professional
Development meetings with the first grade team, as well as several parent/teacher functions held at the
beginning of the year. She handled herself with professionalism and actively sought out opportunities to grow.

I felt priveleged to work with Allison and it makes me very happy to see such a talented individual seek
the profession of teaching. I would highly recommend Allison for any teaching position.
